Indeed, this was my fault, I had introduced a non-terminating recursion there instead of providing, as planned, a safe initialization. In fact, the functions above the erroneous ones were already modified the same as you found neccessary for the last two, and you were right doing so. Still, it might be possible to call one of those functions before everything is fully initialized, and so I added a non-recursing initialization call to all those functions. Testing with your ideU, including the insertion/deletion operation that crashed before, showed no problem any more, even for the "mse_dynpo"-enabled version. Thus, I uploaded the unit file (uncompressed, i.e. "msestockobjects.pas" directly) to my usual exchange web page for you.
