I recorded a mystery call very early this morning. I heard it at 2:45am. It was still dark (at least as dark as it gets around here this time of year) with sunrise not until 4am, but the dawn chorus had been going on for 20 minutes or so.
I would appreciate any suggestions with the identity of the bird that I recorded. You can find the recording (and a little more information about the situation) here: http://www.sitkanature.org/wordpress/2015/06/16/late-night-mystery-call/ Thanks, Matt Goff Sitka, Alaska -- NFC-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NFC_WELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NFC_RULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NFC-L_SubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nfc-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NFC-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NFCL.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
