Boathouse at 9am


Highlights today: three species of Wood Warblers including a very early male 
Prairie Warbler at Iphigene's Walk (Bob), a young male American Redstart at 
Maintenance Field (Barbara Green), a male Black-and-white Warbler at 
Maintenance Field (Karen Evans), and a female Black-and-white Warbler at 
Captain's Bench/Balancing Rock (Bob). 

Reservoir birds seen by Deb before the walk. 


Canada Goose - 41 including 5 juveniles Reservoir
Gadwall - pair Reservoir, pair Turtle Pond
Mallard - around a dozen Reservoir, around 20 Turtle Pond
Double-crested Cormorant - at least 33 Reservoir & flyovers later
Great Egret - Reservoir, Turtle Pond
Black-crowned Night-Heron - adult Reservoir
Red-tailed Hawk - juvenile near Conservatory Water (after walk Bob & Deb)
Herring Gull - 5 Reservoir
Great Black-backed Gull - 3 Reservoir
Mourning Dove - several locations
Chimney Swift
Red-bellied Woodpecker - Maintenance Field
Downy Woodpecker - several locations including a hatch-year bird in Shakespeare 
Garden
Northern Flicker - adult male Evodia Field (Karen Evans), juvenile (Bob before 
walk)
Great Crested Flycatcher - great looks Tupelo Field
Warbling Vireo - Maintenance Field, juvenile molting into first-basic plumage 
Iphigene's Walk, juvenile Tupelo Field
Red-eyed Vireo - Evodia Field, Maintenance Field, Iphigene's Walk, Tupelo Field
Blue Jay - adults & young Laupot Bridge
American Crow - heard
Barn Swallow - adult at nest on exterior of building Reservoir, Ramble (Bob 
before walk)
Black-capped Chickadee - heard (Bob before walk)
White-breasted Nuthatch - 1 or 2 heard
Gray Catbird - several locations
Black-and-white Warbler - male Maintenance Field (Karen Evans), female 
Captain's Bench/Balancing Rock (Bob)
American Redstart - immature male with lots of black Maintenance Field (Barbara 
Green)
Prairie Warbler - male Iphigene's Walk (Bob)
White-throated Sparrow - Tupelo Field
Northern Cardinal - several locations
Red-winged Blackbird - Evodia Field
Common Grackle
Baltimore Oriole - Maintenance Field, at least 3 Iphigene's Walk
House Finch - male Maintenance Field
