Jones Beach 2 Dec After checking the bar at the Coast Guard Station, Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) went to the swale walking down to the water. Of interest were 40 RED KNOT on the bar with AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS and BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER.
On the beach,looking toward the jetty, almost at the end, there were 800-1000 DUNLIN. In the swale and on the beach were 75 SNOW BUNTINGS, 15 HORNED LARKS and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR with the larks.
