Do you have your CA cert trusted to identify email users?  In firefox go
to: preferences->certificate manager->Authorities->{your ca
cert}->edit->tick identify email users.

If this is not ticked, the signText function will return
error:internalError
The openca javascript doesn't check for this error, it just ignores
responses less than 100 chars.  I put a patch for this on sourceforge, I
think it's still sitting there gathering dust.
