Hi All, http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2426200,00.html Sun is going to "free" its Solaris OS. Some say, "Free my Foot." There is an interesting news story (if you are into the philosophy discussions of the license issues) and plenty of good "end-user postings" that follow the news. It is a lot of clicking to read the postings. The discussion of Solaris does NOT hit home with Mac HyperCard folks -- I'd venture to guess. However, the discussion of the license does when it comes to our endeavors. Many praise of the GPL and frown upon "custom" licenses with extra hooks. As to other news... The BE OS is going "gratis" for personal use on its next release. http://free.be.com Good news, these other releases help to "validate" this endeavor.
