Openpkg looks very promising :-)
Please feel free to submits bugs and feature requests against rpm at
http://bugzilla.redhat.com
Specifically, I'll be happy to try and incorporate most of your current
patches into rpm-4.0.4, at least all that are not incompatible with
Red Hat Linux.
I'd also suggest porting openpkg to the "production" rpm-4.0.4 code,
as there's several important bug-fixes and changes there. I don't
believe that there are any major impediments, but then I've only looked
at your code for 15 minutes or so.
