I copied the wrong line of code. The next line reads:

OSG_ENABLE_OGL_COREONLY is set to OFF
(can't find any CHECK)

testTextTXFTexture works. I changed Helvetica to "Bitstream Vera Sans", which
is used in the test-binary.
Unfortunately, this did not change the result.
