Speaking for myself, I'd say that the biggest reason to use OpenSG is its cluster support (even the OpenSceneGraph FAQ acknowledges that [1]). If you don't want/need multithreaded scenegraph operations and clustering, OpenSceneGraph might be the better choice for you (if only for its wider adoption).
