Its file you provide via the -m masterfile option on the commandline. This feature of osgterrain is rather advanced section where is does loading of terrain data in a back ground there and compiles it in compile context with its own compile thread. I wouldn't recommend getting into this code until you are very versed in the OSG and threading.
