Paul,

Errors...I thought ~3 "hard" errors in 4 days was pretty good as I poll for 14
data points every 90 seconds so the script error rate is very small. I have
looked at the 1wire error counters however no really big surprises. There was
only one error logged in that 4 days where the value was greater than the limit
detected which from memory was ~40 degrees (This temperature was through an A/D
channel 1-5VDC though). My network runs about 40 metres in the house (roof)
crossing power cables, although I did make sure I cross power cables at 90
degrees and not run parallel to them....It was a lot worse when I was using
"Fuse" and now I use owread and catch any errors I'm very very happy with
owfs...I did set a range for each Data Source in rrdtool however it did not
stop the data spikes being trended....

Posting script...This script is spawned from the help generated by this group
(thanks Christian and others). Using awk for me was the greatest move to get
data, perform calculations and format it all on one line so I think you should
post awk within the owfs examples, instead of "cat" and "bc". I am finishing
the hardware side of my project so I will submit to you some pics of my final
hardware, web interface and scripts probably within a month if you can include
these on YOUR new owfs site !.

Project Development..Over the next 6 months I plan on moving some of my scripts
to Perl so I can improve my cgi scripts to create an interactive web site and
real time display/control of 1wire data. Although I see no benefit in changing
my read script from bash...I would be keen to communicate with someone who has
done some cgi scripts who use owfs to display this data interactively i.e. show
red / green LED's on a web page representing digital outputs and on/off buttons
which update when the outputs/inputs change...Web development for displaying
data maybe "off-list", however I'd been very keen to share progress with
another NSLU2/owfs user that may of already gone down this web path.

So you're getting 2 errors a day reading every 2 minutes or so?

Very nice script for using the owshell programs with error checking! It would
be nice to post it in the examples section with some pictures and graphs.
