The problems are with my enviroment, and not owfs.

The total bus length is around 40-50m, and there are quite a few branches. 
I'll look at the bus termination.

I believe that the bus must have too much capacitance, and it isn't 
terminated properly. With the program I wrote, and the Dallas tstfind sample 
application, the bus is continually being driven, and therefore the bus 
doesn't get a chance to store an electrical charge.
