No, quite different. Isolated Storage is just a piece of the file system. ESENT <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Storage_Engine> is a complete ISAM database. The C API is quite low-level and fiddly. The ManagedEsent <http://managedesent.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=ManagedEsentDocumentation&r eferringTitle=Home> project puts a managed wrapper around the API. Greg
