I don't have a problem recording in stereo. If I make a recording in Total Recorder and transfer it to another device, such as my BookCourier, it plays back in stereo as do any other MP3's I transfer from my PC. The problem is that I cannot get any files to play back in stereo on the PC itself, even pre-existing MP3's which I've ripped from CD's which used to play in stereo until recently. The only two culprits which might have been responsible for switching play back to mono are Goldwave and Total Recorder 5.2 which I installed at roughly the same time. I initially thought Goldwave was responsible, but the upgrade to Total Recorder could also be to blame, although I only upgraded from 5.1 to 5.2, so it's unlikely that there would have been any fundamental changes in that respect.
If anyone can suggest where I need to look for the setting which governs play back in mono or stereo, I'd be grateful. Even the windows sounds are playing back in mono at present. Thanks, Caroline. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Doc Sent: 27 July 2005 03:38 To: PC audio discussion list. Subject: Re: Restoring Stereo Playback Be sure when you press control +n for new that you are set for stereo at that point. The next place to double check is your attribute settings for the file type you are saving in. Does anyone know how I can re-set the play back to stereo and in which program I need to make the adjustment? Thanks, Caroline. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
