CD architect bundles with Soundforge 9, as you mentioned, earlier in this thread. I have had very little trouble, with the gaps that you mention, using Soundforge 6, to create regions, after recording a live show, then exporting to CD Architect, which automatically adds tracks. I haven't done it in awhile, though and I haven't tried other formats, like lossless or flak! It seems to work well, for the track creation and I just, usually, edit between tracks, where there is applause, if possible; that, of course is not always possible!
