I have both and the stream is a little more stable. It seems to hold bookmarks without a fault, but not so with the Book Sense. I put my textbooks on Victor and pleasure reading on the Book Sense.

It depends what you want to do. If recording is mainly what you want to do, then I personally think the pocket is your best bet. I personally like the ability to decide whether you want to set your recording volume manually, which can be an asset if you want a really good recording quality, or use automatic recording levels. Also the pocket has certain automatic recording settings for environments like conferences, etc. And it can play material in different formats as well and .txt and html files at this stage. But it is quite possible that the sense can play back more files than the pocket.
