I'll have to wait until my wife gets home before reading the name or brand. But it is not sold as a recorder in itself. The unit is designed and sold as a casset transfer item. It is a standard item but not every store carries them. Sorry, but if you inquire at any larger electronic stores as to this type of machine you should get a name. That is all i know for now....sorry! MMM
