that's what turned me off to religion …
So far I'm hearing very good things about Win8 (except from people who were sucked in by Jesus Jobs, and who are still thinking Windows is Win95 on crappy hardware).
i've used Windows since 2.x, sometimes intensively, and still prefer OS X, though i can see that changing as OS X is becomes less flexible; i say that as a foundation for my positive initial impression of Windows 8, though it is far too soon to really know how it will shake out
