Envy you, Jostein. I know you'll hit it hard and I'm sure a lot of the results 
will be satisfying..
You've listed about everything you should for the area. You're a bit late for 
peak fall colors, but there is so much else I don't think you'll 
miss it.
So much of that area is at high elevations, so am hoping winter conditions 
aren't a part of your experience. Carry chains in your rental car. They can be 
very expensive if you have to buy them have them installed by a chain monkey.
