I've observed several traits common to the numerous cats we've had and would
consider those typical such as the aloofness pose.
We've had 2 Abyssinians, a Persian and several Heinz breed, loved them all
except the Persian which came onboard late in its life and was very set in
its ways - it was the only cat we had to find a new home for - all the rest
stayed with us until they departed to the great cattery in the sky.
We've had an extremely nice malamute that I miss very much, but at this
point in life and our life style, any cat or dog would be a burden on us.
There's no comparison to the effort for having a dog vs a cat. Cats simply
exist with you while the dog wants to be your life.

Good point, Ralf! Maybe Ken is a dog person :-)

Of course Ashley objected to Ken's comment - because she is not a
"typical" cat - those who have met her in person will confirm :-)
Is there any such thing as a typical cat?
