Contrary to John's analysis I do like the gray better. White edges
remaining from the background extraction provide a rim light effect that
accents the blooms and the leaves. I do wonder how it would look with a
darker gray, but not black, background. Assuming the background is on a
separate layer, I might even experiment a little with a linear or
circular gradient to make the background more interesting.
