Looks like the normal Bluegum tree (Eucalyptus Globulus, imported from Australia originally) which is the feedstock species for the pulp and paper industry in South Africa. Has largely replaced the indigenous forests & gobbles up the meagre water supply. Smaller trees or those produced by coppicing of previously felled trees are used for termite resistant poles. Those colours apppear on the thin outer layers of the bark.
