Based on the e-mails from earlier today, I am looking in to PLA 1.2. Here are
my thoughts so far on the new version:

1. There is no "simple search" feature. This is perhaps the most commonly used
screen in the entire system, and all my users are comfortable with the "simple
search" screen. Taking this away seems silly - I can't imagine a reason that
it shouldn't exist in the new version.

2. The behavior of the "search" screen is different. Specifically, when you
search for something in 1.1, the search form is still visible on the results
screen, allowing the user to make minor modifications to the search parameters
and re-submit the search. This is not possible in 1.2 - the completed search
form does not re-appear on the results page.

3. As a consequence of #2, when looking at the search results if you click
"back" to go update your filter, you get the "Use the menu to the left to
navigate" welcome screen instead of the search form that you just filled out.

4. The system is making me select a template to edit an existing user account -
shouldn't it just go to the "default" screen unless a specific template is
defined?

5. I went to edit my own account, didn't change any fields at all, and clicked
"Update Object", and the system then asked me if I was sure that I wanted to
update the sambaNTPassword field, saying that the "attribute doesnt exist",
when in fact it definitely does.

I haven't gone much further so far as these are pretty serious issues. Has
anyone else had similar experiences?
