Tim, In addition to my previous mail, in PLA 1.2 the backend rendering was also overhauled - the backend rendering is responsible for both the creation/editing of entries (the displaying of values and configuration of the HTML form), as well as rendering search results. The result of this work enabled the addition of additional (multi value) binary attributes (including jpegPhoto), as well as the consistent rendering of all attributes - a great improvement on what was done previously.
There is more work that can be done to the search presentation (ajax wise), as well as overall ajax improvements in general. 1) The simple search form wasnt ported into 1.2 - however, if it is definitely a useful feature then either submit a enhancement request, or patch for it to be included. It should be relatively easy to put back 2) It can appear by pressing "search" again :) But yes, this is an improvement that can be made. 3) See 2 4) There has been discussion on the templates in the mailing list already. Some points: * A template is "eligible" to be used to edit an entry - not to force an entry to be edited with it. (The default template is also an eligible template). * The default template can be disabled via the configuration, if you dont want it used. * A template without a regexp definition is available to edit all entries (define a regexp if you want this used in a specific context) * If there is only 1 "eligible" template for an entry, it is selected automatically. * If there is more than 1 template available to edit an entry, PLA asks you which one to use (and remembers it for the session, unless you purge cache, or switch to another). For the record, this is not different to how it was done in 1.1 - except that in 1.1 no "enabled" modification templates were supplied, so you always were given the default template. 5) This is a minor bug I am aware of, but havent figured out how to fix. (Its to do with the backend rendering of password attributes, and determination if the attribute has changed value after encryption). In the mean time, you can "skip" this attribute from being updated, if you didnt change it. If you figure out how to fix it, then submit a patch :) ...deon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com _______________________________________________ phpldapadmin-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/phpldapadmin-users
