Oh what the heck, I'll do it now:

Dear Friends,

First let me apologize for the snails pace this project has been taking. I
know 'I'm busy' is the lamest excuse but the start of the year has been nuts
for me. I humbly admit in every way that I dropped the ball. Ian Sison
talked a lot about how that could happen and I foolishly thought I'd be
above that, but when my biz started to call I really couldn't help it.

Another reason is that ideas for hosting the PLUG website came to a halt at
the end of last year, and so I decided to host it at my own VPS at Tri -
Isys (a pricey but very good service), a risky proposition because it runs
three of busy production websites which I rely on. Also it runs lighttpd,
something I was just starting to get a handle on (but it sure is DAMN fast).

At any rate, enough excuses. The site is up now:

http://plug.exchange.ph

A Drupal install using default skin. You may all create an account, then
click Create Content > Member Profile, and fill in the blanks.

It is FAR from finished. Here is draft of what I want to do with it:

   - Invite people who write to occasionally provide content for it.
   - Ask PLUGgers who Blog to submit feeds that involve PLUG related
content and Aggregate it <-- I am very excited about this as I foresee this
   as its main draw.
   - Hosting elsewhere? Domain? (BIG question mark)
   - Experiment with a little bit of social networking once membership
   increases.

After which, we FINALLY deal with that niggling SEC Registration, and
eventually the burning issues at hand.

I FULLY accept responsibility for the lack of action these past months.
Again I apologize and resolve to update more often plus double my efforts. I
want nothing more than to get PLUG's voice heard by making it relevant and
worthwhile. I am doing this because I feel I have the experience and the
skills to make it happen, and yes, the OOXML issue plus many others is
burning me up.

Gabriel Mercado

ps. credit Drupal developers extraordinaire Mr. Marc Robinsone and Jan
Pabellon for efforts with the website.
