But then there were a whole range of DEC PDP-11/30's and /40's that had
TTY's.
I'm blank about the earlier ones.
One thing's for sure, the PDP-11 I saw at the MIT Lab didn't have any of
it's 8 TTY's and consoles any more.

Anyway, you sure needed a lot of discipline to input your programs that
way.
Those were from paper tape I presume?
If so, then you were bred with the fact in mind that manual debugging
was much faster than runtime debugging.
A pretty rare trait these days.
