Hey ya, yep. I've been meaning to improve the messaging there :) You need to https://www.pygame.org/confirm first, since you already had an account. Then probably use the http://www.pygame.org/reset after confirming. Not ideal, but I'll at least make the messages better now.
Newbies don't have that issue at least.
