All in all I BTW think it's preferable to get through the official printer spool (i.e. by selecting "printer" and the appropriate name) and not through the LPT devices, even if the printer is connected via a parallel cable. Actually yes, I think if you print to a spool or via QPCPrint printing will only start after the channel is closed (definitely true for QPCPrint, 90% sure for spool. Not 100% because even though having developed QPCPrint, I don't even have an own printer...).
