I have experienced problems myself when using ptr_gen 2.02. In my case, reverting to 2.01 helped (I was using Aurora MinisQL, JM ROM, SGC 2.49, Qubide). I found that I could use ptr_gen 2.01 with the wman and hot_rext which normally came with ptr_gen 2.02. I did send emails to Marcel and Wolfgang at the time, but I thought it might just have been my particular system. I have left v2.02 on my website as I thought some people might be able to use it. Usually, when someone reports a problem, I just mention I had problems with v2.02 which were fixed when I went back to a previous version.
In my case, the problem was that if I tried to EXEC any program under the JM ROM, the machine locked up. It went quiet after I reported the problem, so I assumed it was just a problem on my particular system, which has always caused all sorts of problems when I tried to run the gold card SMSQE on it.
