OK, but ser 1 is definitely the port to use. Try to find out whether anything else has opened a channel to ser 1. If you have QPAC 2, this is easily done with the "channels" menu. If not, remove all other jobs, check your boot file and also check the QPTI settings - here I can use it without having any error (smsqe 3.12).
