In Firefox,
Edit->Preferences (or Tools->Preferences accordingly)
Click Applications at the top.
In the list, find :
PDF Document (application/pdf)
and/or
PDF Document (application/binary)
For each, choose a program/option from the drop down - I suspect you are
set to "save file" or similar.
Ok your way out and test. Should work.
