Hi all, being that I just received my QXL I went ahead and used a Thierry's Dhrystone (gcc compiled) 2.1 to compare my 25MHz QXL w/8 Mb. with QPC v.2.03 running on an Athlon 750 / 512 Meg. Ram
The results are kind of stunning: I set it for 5000000 runs Here goes: QPC OS: SMSQ/E 2.99 ìsec per run: 42.2 Dhrystones/sec: 23692.2 VAX MIPS: 13.484 QXL OS: SMSQ/E 2.91 (It was 2.91 after all :-) ìsec per run: 30.2 Dhrystones/sec: 33108.2 VAX MIPS: 18.844 !!!! Is that possible? Also Turbo 4.15 really shows its quality on a real 68K processor (Marcel uses a lot of accelerating code so you can't really judge S*Basic from compiled - Small differences only- It gave me an improvement on QSBB_BAS (Not the best test I know) of over 45%!!!
