Thanks, I had worked back and forth with the two methods your way worked but did not work with some other things. your way is cleaner and I tried to get it to work, but worked through how Qooxdoo works and got it to work in "extend : qx.application.Native" mode. While your way worked with "extend : qx.application.Standalone mode".
