Yes. You are right. We (I'm not part of the orion team but the more
general e4 effort) are at the beginning of a big journey here and as you
already found out it is NOT based upon Eclipse code but written from
scratch using:
* Java/OSGi on the server side providing REST-Services
* dojo on the client side (no RAP involved)

Anyways I think for all Web-Devs Orion is something to take a look at
and maybe there are even people who'd like to join us!
