Another very big problem to run the Eclipse IDE with RAP is the most important thing an IDE needs. So orion is one more "idea" (well it's more than an idea but I can't find a better term) we are growing up inside e4 and once mature enough the plan is to make it a top level project. I can only say: If you are interested come and join us. The earlier you start bringing your own ideas, knowledge, ... the bigger is the chance things will work as you expect them to work.
