Hey,
I tracked down the problem to a known property system behavior / bug. The
problem is that the change vent is fired even if the init value is the same as
the new value.

Yes, agree that this is problematic. Just take a look at the bug report to read
the details about this problem:

Can it be fixed?
Unfortunately and thats the bad thing about it, currently not. Maybe with a new
property system but not with the current one. For some more reasons, take a
look at the bug report as well.
