Ok, I think the word "backend" can be misunderstood.
I meant this one : http://qooxdoo.org/contrib/project/rpcjava
If you want to use this rpc mechanism you will have to deploy the
WAR-File to a Java EE servlet container.

There is no such beast.
Qooxdoo can talk to whatever backend you need. We use Perl for our
applications, others use PHP, others use node.js (I believe) and some
people
might use Java.
