FRUIT - FILLED COOKIE BARS   

      2 1/2 c. flour
      1 1/2 c. sugar
      1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
      2 eggs
      1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, undrained
      1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
      3/4 c. chopped nuts
      1 tsp. vanilla
      1 1/2 c. flaked coconut

      GLAZE INGREDIENTS:

      3/4 c. sugar
      1/4 c. evaporated milk
      1/2 c. butter
      1/2 tsp. vanilla

      Grease a 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. In large bowl combine all 
ingredients except coconut and glaze. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 
3 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour batter into 
prepared pan, spreading to edges; sprinkle with coconut. Bake at 350 degrees 
for 25 to 30 minutes. 
      Prepare Glaze: In medium saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a 
boil, stirring well. Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Spread on warm bars. 
Cool completely. Cut into 1 x 2 inch bars.
