Yeah these are 8-64GB machines.

Compare:
RHEL3 U8 on an HP xw9300 workstation installs in about 11 minutes (5.7GB
of packages).
RHEL5b Client/Workstation on that exact same system takes over an hour
and a half to install 10GB of packages.
Anybody else noticed this? I'm seeing this on other hardware platforms
too, not just the xw9300. Notably the Sun X4100, the HP DL385G2, and
the Sun x2200 workstation. Pretty much any hardware I try installing
RHEL5 beta2 on, it takes well over an hour to get through the package
installation.
Other notes:
* Systems are gigabit connected
* Installation does @Everything in the kickstart file
* Everything is automated, so it's not like it's waiting for half an
hour for me to click "ok" or something.
How much RAM in these boxes. We've certainly seen a slowdown with 256M
machines . . . I suspect your boxes have more, but just checking.
