     Three day workshop in Resita  ( 3rd – 5th of November 2006)  EDUCATION, AUDIOVISUAL & CULTURE EXECUTIVE AGENCY                                                      “METHODS TO EMPOWER THE ROLE OF BALKAN WOMEN AS ACTIVE EUROPEAN CITIZENS”     Women in Balkans have recently obtained opportunities quite different from even a decade ago. Very few women though have realised their new potentials as European Citizens. Also, very often their low educational level in combination with the special cultural and ideological background of Balkans impede women from taking responsibilities and developing social activities although they should be in the forefront of efforts to embrace new political, social and economical relationships as their States attempt to integrate with their European neighbours.      Considering the observations mentioned above, the main objectives of the proposed project are   §         to examine and classify the special background, needs and difficulties of women in Balkans according to their educational level, their social and economical situation.  §         to define the contain of an training material that will be adequate to
 support and encourage Balkan Women’ European Integration as well as to empower the role of Balkan Women as Active European Citizens.  §         to create ways to include the training material mentioned above in all kinds of associations and organisations specialised in Women support and development in Balkans.  §         to ensure the accessibility to the training material and the project results by anyone interested through a well organised Internet site.  §        
 to create a network that will always provide information, exchange opinions, experience and good practices in subjects relevant to Balkan Women European Integration.     The co-ordinator of the project as well as the partner organisations have already defined a wide target group that intend to benefit developing and implementing this project:     §         Balkan women from Bulgaria, Rïmania, Cyprus and Greece. Thanks
 to them and their special needs and difficulties, we inspired this project… The training material that will be created, it will be used by the specialists, the trainers, the animators, the volunteers workers and the representatives of the organisations mentioned above in order to inform Balkan Women about their rights, their obligations and their potentials as Active European Citizens and empower them to participate actively in the Construction of a wide European Union where Balkan Voice will be loud and determinate.     Activities in order to achieve the goals of the project:     §         a three day workshop in Sofia (Bulgaria)  During this first workshop it will be presented and discussed the objectives, the timetable of the project and the obligations of each partner association. In addition each participant association will present its profile as well as its activities and also there will be a long and deep discussion about the Balkan Women Social and European Integration at present time. This discussion will be based on partners’ previous relevant experience, researches, studies, scientific and newspaper articles that the partners will have collected previously as a part of their obligations towards the project partnership. Finally, based on all this information mentioned above, the participants will classify the special background, needs and difficulties of women in Balkans according to their educational level, their social and economical situation in order to end to some first conclusions about the contain of the
 ideal training material.     §         a three day  workshop in Resita (Rïmania)  The main subject of Rïmania’s workshop will be the creation of the training material adequate to encourage Balkan Women European Integration and to promote European Active Citizenship. It will be defined the exact structure and the contain of the training material guide, the proposed
 training methods and the ways to integrate all this kind of special education in all kinds of training courses and educational activities promoted by relevant organisations in Balkans.      §         a three day workshop in
 Nicosia (Cyprus)  During the last workshop, there will be arranged the last details about the training material, its presentation and wide diffusion. Also, the participants will discuss about and define all the other information presented to their common website (apart of the training material) as well as the
 possibility of a continuous feedback of the site even after the end of the project. Last but not least, during the workshop in Cyprus, the partner organisations will examine the possibility of creating a network of cooperation and will define the terms and the objectives of this formal cooperation.       During these three workshops, apart from the activities mentioned above,
 there will be organised short study visits and meetings with local women and organisations located in regions near the location where each workshop takes place. Through this kind of activity the partner organisations will have the chance to study by themselves all about the present situation about the Balkan Women, their difficulties, needs and perspectives regarding their future as European Citizens.  Each workshop will be organised by the coordinator association in cooperation with the partner organisation located in the town where the workshop will take place.      §         Creation of electronic training material  More precisely, the training material that will be created during the workshops will contain all that necessary information that will provide trainers, animators, workers etc job
 work regarding the Balkan Women European Integration and the empowerment of their role as European Active Citizens. It will also contain the suggested methodology depending always on the special background, needs, educational and socio-economical level of each target group.     §         Creation of a website  The website will be accessible to anyone interested and will contain the training material in five languages (English, Greek, Bulgarian, Rïmanian,) and as well as information, articles, studies, researches etc related to women and their social and European integration, mostly in English .   The co-ordinator organisation will take full
 responsibility for all the technical processes and details related to the development of the website.     §         Three days Conference in Thessaloniki (Greece)  The main objectives of the conference is to be presented widely the new training material dedicated to Balkan Women European Integration, the relevant website and finally to be announced the creation of a network of cooperation between the partner organisations.
   What it is most important though is that during the conference all those that will attempt it (there will be an open invitation for the conference) will have the chance to be informed about scientific studies, national and European Strategies, Initiatives and Programs related to Women subjects presented by University Professors, National and European Institutions Representatives, Associations Representatives etc.        As far as it concerns the anticipated impact of the project is the improvement of Balkan Women situation, their faster European Integration and Understanding by the development and implementation of appropriate training courses and activities based on a well prepared training material, like the one we intend to create with the support of this program.     Furthermore to all mentioned above about the dissemination of the project, the proposed dissemination
 methods are the following:   a) The web-site that we intend to design will be assessed by all the interested institutions and people that will be able to be informed for the outputs of the project  b) A three months mailing newsletter will be sent to all the relevant organisations located in partner organisations countries   c) Press releases and articles in local newspapers will contribute to the best dissemination of the
