Gentoo stable for x86 architecture uses
* x11-libs/qt
Latest version available: 3.3.2
* sys-devel/gcc
Latest version available: 3.3.3-r6
I had no problems with this combination. But now Jeremy Huddleston is writing
patches to make it work with gcc-3.4, see
