This is true and false at the same time. Linear performance expressions (example: ppppp>fffff) can hold only 0-127 steps/events. More then that is insane. But what about ping-pong volume effect on an 1/2 note at slow tempo? That's at least 256 events (I wont go into problem if even that is necessary). Imaginable scenario, though.
