Interesting -- having initially assumed the lack of a qHash(QUrl&) in Qt was an oversight, I'd come around to thinking it might be deliberate after realising (only rather recently) how incredibly poor the performance of QUrl was when used "in bulk". They are very expensive to construct, to hash, and to convert to strings. It doesn't actually matter for the very limited use we make of them, but at scale it's far better to store URLs as strings than QUrls. Of course this may have changed in 4.7 as well; I haven't looked into it. I suspect more likely not though.
