I find myself in need of tablature. I almost defected to Muse Score, but it turns out I still have a political bone in my body, and that project's politics suck. I wouldn't give Werner Schweer a hair off my asshole.
So... I've been fooling around, and I think the low cost git'r done way to solve my tablature problem is going to involve adding a bunch of new options to cook up a new LilyPond-only feature. I'm not going to do a tab staff or lots of other complicated things unless it just proves unavoidable, and I don't think it's unavoidable at all. I think I can set some stuff up to massage the LilyPond output and get rather nice results for very cheap, actually. The other advantage of going this route is LilyPond's has far superior output anyway. The results look positively excellent. Plus sometimes it's easier to weld a new dongle on your front-end loader instead of learning how to use a back hoe. -- D.
