That rings a bell. The problem you're seeing with quarter note triplets is
reliably reproduceable, IIRC. I think I even made a one-staff, one-measure
composition with nothing but quarter note triplets just to see if it would
come out right when there was nothing else to fuss over (probably after
seeing the same problems you did with my 16 measures of such triplets in
the Prince Borodin overture last year). Even with such a clean slate, the
LilyPond exporter gets it wrong. I think I started to look into it, but
haven't been able to devote the required time in the last couple of years.
Maybe Yves could take a look? I think he's our LilyPond expert.
