That "ten statements" thing is just part of the Top Stories icon option on your 
Yahoo home page. I've got it here too. Nothing to become alarmed about. If you 
click one of the other icons, you'll be directed to other services on the home 
page. Yours may be slightly different than what I'm seeing due to my internet 
being a function of Yahoo via AT&T's U-Verse service.
