Doktorandenstelle in der bioanorganischen Chemie / künstliche Photosynthese (English description: see below) Zum baldmöglichsten Beginn suchen wir eine wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin / ein wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter für ein Forschungsprojekt der bioanorganischen Chemie. Untersucht werden Synthese, Charakterisierung und katalytische Eigenschaften mehrkerniger Mangankomplexe, mit denen man Struktur und Funktion des manganhaltigen Reaktionszentrums von Photosystem II nachahmen möchte. Zusätzlich sind solche Verbindungen für die Anwendung in solarer Energieumwandlung hochinteressant. Für genauere Details zum Forschungsprojekt siehe: www.ac.uni-kiel.de/phkurz. Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören die selbstständige und systematische Forschung als Teil unseres Mangan-Teams, sowie die Mitarbeit in der Lehre des Instituts für Anorganische Chemie (2 SWS). Voraussetzung ist ein abgeschlossenes Studium der Chemie, Biochemie oder verwandter Studiengänge. Fundierte Kenntnisse in der anorganischen Komplexsynthese und grundlegender spektroskopischer Methoden (UVVis, IR, Raman, NMR ) wären von großem Vorteil. Das Forschungsprojekt wird vom Fonds der chemischen Industrie im Rahmen eines Liebig- Stipendiums unterstützt. Die Vergütung erfolgt in Form monatlicher, steuerfreier Raten von 1400. Außerdem stehen jährlich Reisemittel für den Besuch einer wissenschaftlichen Tagung in Europa zur Verfügung. PhD position in Bioinorganic Chemistry / Artificial Photosynthesis A PhD position is available at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry in Kiel in the field of bioinorganic chemistry. You will join a research project investigating the synthesis, characterization and catalytic performance of polynuclear manganese complexes as models for the active site of the natural Photosystem II. Additionally, such compounds might be used in the construction of artificial systems for solar energy conversion. Details of our experimental approach can be found at www.ac.uni-kiel.de/phkurz. You will carry out a research project as member of our manganese team and also be involved in teaching courses in general and inorganic chemistry (2 lessons per week). Applicants should have a university degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field. Experiences in the synthesis of inorganic complexes and fundamental spectroscopic techniques (UVVis, IR, Raman, NMR ) would be desirable. The project is supported by the Fonds der chemischen Industrie as part of a Liebig grant. The successful applicant will receive a tax-free stipend of 1400 per month as well as a travel grant to visit one European science conference per year.
