I just came across this reference on the linux-kernel list:

Its a Win9x/WinNT application/dll/vxd that allows you some graphical
monitoring of serial and parallel ports. I figure it might be useful
to those of you writing drivers for serial-based SCRs, either for SCRs
where the vendor won't release the docs, or even if yuo have the docs but
things aren't working the way you think they should be :)
I have not yet tried it myself.
