  1. But you should provide more information. Use `alsa-info.sh` [1] to do
  this.

I hope someone else reading this list has experience with Xilinx and may
help you. But I doubt it.

  2. Anyway, did you contact Xilinx about this?
  3. Can you try a live image of a different GNU/Linux distribution (for
example KNOPPIX) and see if it works.
  4. Did you try a newer ALSA version?

[…]

I have not contacted Xilinx, I searched on Xilinx forum but there are no
 topic about this.
I have just tried compiled Linux kernel v2.6.33 and snd-ml403-ac97cr device
 was also not detected.
I attach the results that I run alsa-info.sh on my XUPV2P board.

Please do not compress attachments. And if you have to do it in the
future please do not use non-free formats as RAR.

Could you please resend your message with an uncompressed output of
`alsa-info.sh`.

Thanks,

Paul

Last time I tried, this didn't work.
The solution was either to compress it (gzip is good for this, you can
use zcat, zless and everything, the bad thing is that you can't see it
from the mail client) or maybe put it in the mail inline.
