yes, it's stable 'as far as we know', but my aMSN didn't give me a bug report for years now, but still when we have a 'wide' release, we get thousands of bugreports a day... it's not about not launching something 'new and great' in a bugfix release, it's about not launching something 'that isn't mature, that didn't get enough testing' in a release that has one purpose : make the application more stable.. if it was about a new small dialog, no prob, but changing the whole protocol... nope, it's something else.. for what I know, we could have (after a release to 1 million users) only 10% of the people where it works correctly... some might end up loosing contacts (who's fault would that be?) and that's not what I would call a get the new version,it's even more stable! I'm not generous, I'm not 'giving permission' to anything... I'm just trying to think about all the aspects, and I'm giving my opinion (!= permission)... Hi, thx for doing it, little issue though, the line you added is about setting the config key protocol to 11.. which means everyone using CVS will have their config set to use MSNP12... (shouldn't the if $protocol == 11 become if $protocol == 12 ?) but it also means that when we remove that line for the release, we won't get msnp9 by default again, no, we'll only get people who weren't using cvs to still use msnp9.. but the others who even just tried cvs for one day will have their config key set to 11 and it won't revert back to 9... I think it's not the correct way of doing it but I don't think it's an issue since people who'll use cvs won't really care about the 'bugfix release' (unless they used cvs because they were told it's stable and they needed their bug to be fixed ASAP).. my fix for this would have been in the proc ::config::setKey : if { $key == protocol } return 11 else if ([info exists ... ) return ::config::config(key) change it IF you want, but I would say it's not necessary, it's not a huge issue... users who don't like it could just go f... :D if me mail was not clear, simple : I'm tired and don't know what I'm talking about c ya KKRT On Fri, 13 Jan 2006 09:53:52 -0500, Vivia Nikolaidou [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: yeah, I'm ok with that.. Since festival doesn't recognize swedish characters I just had to fix that. :) Second at the moment the filter was only on or off so I changed it to a bool type. We can keep the filter as a bool for the moment but I hoped that the filter could be extended to filter out junk text as ..., etc. Third, you had a list of smileys to filter out, I removed that list and just use the actual list of smileys instead. [Amsn-devel] Inks.... :( (Depressive people don't read that :p)
Hi guys, bad news... Last days I was trying to make Inks work with MSN7 so I implemented the P2P ink transfer believing it was the key to make them work... But after some searching I found a bad news... I tried to send my own GIFs and each time it didn't work : the image didn't display... So I thought it was a bug in my P2P transfer... But after I had an idea : capturing a GIF comming from MSN7 and resend it and... It worked !! So I deduced that the data was the cause and searched again and again... And yesterday just before going sleeping I saw the true !! Each GIF created by MSN contains data in GIF comment field : ISF (ink serialized fromat) data I suppose so that when MSN7 get a GIF for inks and when it has Journal Viewer installed it search in this field to get the ink... But if it hasn't Journal Viewer installed it will display the GIF content : I tried with Alberto (thanks to him) : he sent me an Ink with his aMsn original (so old way to send inks) and I received it on my MSN7 !! Why ?? Because I don't have the Journal Viewer installed !! I can't write inks !! So I think without reversing the ISF we can't send Inks to MSN7 and over users... It's too bad I know... Re: [Amsn-devel] a flash player for winks
well, I think that if you 'buy' a wink... it will be a wink not a flash animation and msn creates the wink (Cab file/xml/thumbnail) from it... yes, aMSN should be able to give users the opportunity to not only 'steal' winks from users, but also create a custom wink, but it should also allow entering an image for the thumbnail... do we really need that feature in the first release of the 'winks support' ? I will take a look at the library, if the design is not too bad it would be easy to extract from the library only the features we are interested in and as the lib is under LGPL we will be able to create a libmspacklight ! There must be a solution to this... + I'm sure the algorithm is easy to reverse engineer (for someone who was able to RE the webcam codec :P) but from what I heard the ink format is not that compilcated, the complicated part is that the ISF is itself compressed with a 'WTF' compression algorithm.. WTF is not the FCC.. it's a What The Fuck algorithm but I'm sure there's something else..try for example, pasting an image (like a background capture) and sending it through ink.. I'm sure they won't 'isf-ize' the background.. there probably is a comment field that would say no ISF available, we could probably have a ::CxImage::addComment $gif_file $comment_data, where TkCxImage would allow us to add anything we want to the gif, and thus, make it compatible... though of that ? try searching that way... Burger : use farisght to play flash 'movies' for the Winks feature ? using swfdec plugin to gstreamer.. how hard would that be ? Afaik, we need a tcl/tk wrapper for gstreamer so we can have it integrate audio/video in amsn. Then, you 'just' build a gstreamer pipeline using the libmimic plugin for webcam ... or the libswfdec plugin for flash support ... so I think the most work part for aMSN will be the gstreamer-tcl/tk bindings. I need one thing done before uploading it. Last week I got rid of some useless tags that were only used for formating since Imanaged to get the same effect with CSS. But it screwed up the recent posts block, not sure why. I looked at the code for it and it looks weird. First of all it's not really XHTML and every news item is a seperate list. I think the following format would be better: document.write('ul style=text-align: left;padding-left: 20px;margin-bottom: 0px'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=253;MSN Emoticons/a/li'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=252;Errors during make.../a/li'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=251;Plusieurs Compte connecte.../a/li'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=250;Transfert et comptes pr.../a/li'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=249;Showing up as offline to .../a/li'); document.write('lia href=http://amsnforums.net/viewtopic.phpt=248;a few webcam/amsn questio.../a/li'); document.write('/ul'); It's a single list containg all recent posts as items. It also makes more sence in the structure it this way. So Yves, could you change it to make it like it? Do you have any comments? that's about it! thx!
